If you’re an introvert, don’t wear the Jambu Naomi. It’s guaranteed to attract attention. Get ready for strangers to stop you asking, “I love your shoes, where did you get them?” And then, of course, you can point them to Barking Dog Shoes and Jambu Shoes. We thank you in advance…
Athleisure sandals are a dime a dozen these days, but the Jambu Naomi differentiates itself from the pack with its unique bungee cords along the side of the sandal. Not only is this an eye-catching detail, the cording provides just a little extra lateral support–like a gentle hug to the foot. However, if your foot is on the wider side, you may get a tighter hug that leaves bungee cord imprints! I’ll address the fit in a few, but let’s talk about the feel of the Jambu Naomi first…
The soft kid suede uppers feel great against the skin. I have to be careful with sandals that cross the forefoot due to sensitive toes, but the suede is soft enough not to irritate this area of my foot. A densely cushioned memory foam footbed lies atop a 2.5″ wedge outsole made of recycled rubber. This combination offers excellent shock absorption when walking on hard surfaces; I especially feel the cushioning at the ball of foot and heel area., plus there’s an enhanced area of memory foam under the arch for moderate support.
The sole is fairly rigid which is actually beneficial if you have hallux limitus or rigidus keeping the big toe from over-flexing.
As far as fit goes, I’d say the Jambu Naomi runs true to size. I wear a size 10 medium and that’s the size that fits me best in the Naomi. I wouldn’t recommend this shoe for wide width feet.
Other considerations: the ankle strap does adjust a bit with velcro. This feature allows you to tighten or loosen the ankle strap according to your ankle width (it doesn’t adjust a ton, but makes a difference if you feel the top of the vamp digging into your foot.
